Foreign cyber crime sparks internet security warning

Intrusion Detection Australian intelligence authorities are reporting a major increase in cyber espionage attacks from abroad, and they fear the consequences could be devastating. Hacking attempts are now so frequent that entire teams work around the clock to repel attacks on sensitive Government departments. But the risk to business is of equal concern, as hackers and even foreign governments try to steal Australia's valuable commercial secrets and sometimes hold them to ransom. Hayden Cooper reports.

HAYDEN COOPER, REPORTER: They can strike at any time from anywhere. Hackers, cyber activists, spies: infiltrating Australia's biggest companies, exposing its major public departments and stealing secret and lucrative information.
