At this point in the scramble to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley, we can confidently draw some conclusions about the effectiveness of the approaches that are being taken. One conclusion is that virtually all companies need to deploy effective compliance technologies in order to achieve and maintain compliance without incurring intolerable costs. Compliance technologies include technologies for physical security, intrusion detection, configuration management, storage, controls documentation, business process management, identity management, and identity auditing.
