Identity Management: Controlling the Costs of Continuous Compliance

There are a number of technologies that can streamline your compliance effort so that your company remains compliant without incurring burdensome recurring costs. One such technology is identity management, which can help to establish repeatable, sustainable, cost-effective processes that respond quickly to organizational changes, enable continuous compliance and security, and create auditable histories of who had access to what information.

At this point in the scramble to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley, we can confidently draw some conclusions about the effectiveness of the approaches that are being taken. One conclusion is that virtually all companies need to deploy effective compliance technologies in order to achieve and maintain compliance without incurring intolerable costs. Compliance technologies include technologies for physical security, intrusion detection, configuration management, storage, controls documentation, business process management, identity management, and identity auditing.
