IBM: DDoS, web exploits, hacker sophistication on the rise, but mobile security looking good Print E-mail

Latest News Web application exploits are on the rise, as are distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, while spam bots and hackersí spear-phishing tactics are getting more sophisticated. Mobile, though, is on track to be more secure than traditional computing by 2014, with the help of emerging technologies to encrypt, containerize, and wipe data remotely.

Thatís the word from IBMís X-Force 2012 Year-End Trend and Risk Report, which found that the exploitation of web application vulnerabilities rose 14% in 2012 to reach more than 3,500 known issues, or 43% of all reported vulnerabilities.
