SOFTWARE DEVELOPER Adobe has released a public beta for its Flash Player 11 that brings 64-bit support to Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
Adobe's Flash Player 11 beta is the first to offer across the board 64-bit support on all major operating systems and brings with it major changes in the way that 3D graphics are rendered, with the new Stage 3D API. Adobe has even had time to introduce new security features that it hopes will stand it in good stead as WebGL takes off.

Following on from Microsoft's claims that WebGL could bring a whole new era of insecurity, Adobe put considerable effort into addressing potential security vulnerabilities. The outfit said one of its primary design goals was to "ensure Stage 3D will run great on mobile devices without compromising security".
