Guardian Digital is happy to announce the release of EnGarde Secure Community 3.0.5 (Version 3.0, Release 5). This release includes several bug fixes and feature enhancements to the Guardian Digital WebTool and the SELinux policy, several updated packages, and a couple of new packages available for installation.

The following reported bugs from bugs.engardelinux.org are fixed in this release:
    #0000061 Problem creating virtual interface via webtool.
    #0000059 Problem creating SSL certificates
    #0000056 When clicking ALL in Access Control - access is blocked.
    #0000055 SSH Key Passphrase issue
    #0000054 IMPROVED GDSN Package Management Interface
    #0000053 We can support EM64T
    #0000052 LILO cannot send output to the terminal
Several other bugs are fixed in this release as well.

New features include:

  • Support for the 64bit Intel EM64T architecture. Users with these machines can now use the x86_64 ISO image in full 64bit mode.
  • The latest stable versions of aide (0.11), gnupg (1.4.2.2), postfix (2.2.9), samba (3.0.21c), and xinetd (2.3.14), and zaptel (1.2.4)
  • New packages for bridge-utils (1.1) and perl-Net-SNMP (5.2.0).

All new users downloading EnGarde Secure Linux for the first time or users who use the LiveCD environment should download this release.

Users who are currently using EnGarde Secure Linux do not need to download this release -- they can update their machines via the Guardian Digital Secure Network WebTool module.
