Fedora Updated package.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2005-360
2005-05-04
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Product : Fedora Core 3
Name : system-config-bind
Version : 4.0.0
Release : 11
Summary : The Red Hat BIND DNS Configuration Tool.
Description :
The system-config-bind package provides a graphical user interface (GUI) to
configure the Berkeley Internet Name Domain (BIND) Domain Name System (DNS)
server, "named", with a set of python modules.
Users new to BIND configuration can use this tool to quickly set up a working
DNS server.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

New, completely rewritten version of system-config-bind, with
 major advantages over its predecessor,
 bindconf / redhat-config-bind / system-config-bind-2.0.x :

o Will actually write named.conf and zone files successfully!

o No longer requires named.custom for constructs it "doesn't understand"

o understands and configures all named.conf and zone database file constructs

o supports all named configuration options

o supports all zone RDATA types

o preserves comments and formatting in existing named.conf and zone db files

o does not require that any bind configuration is installed to start up -
will install initial default configuration if none found

o cannot install configuration files unacceptable to named

o fully supports Access Control List configuration with GUI

o supports generation and configuration of Keys from GUI

 o fully supports bind9 Views

o support for basic DNSSEC configuration

 o has hosts(5) import facility

o support for configuration of all BIND-9 IPv6 features

o automatic generation of PTR when A/AAAA created, or of A/AAAA when PTR created

o has built-in User Guide and Manual

NOTE: only the English Language version is currently available.
Work on non-English translations is in progress
